Trip to wonderland

Migration Series:
We live in a time of great upheavals and transitions. War, natural disasters, new diseases, scientific and technological discoveries, and amongst all these forces human beings must find their way simply to live their lives. I have lived for significant periods of my life In Iran, in Germany, and now in Western Canada. In my moves from one country to another, I have seen many people in migration, some for professional reasons, some to escape war, all in search of harmony. My work explores the forces of historical change and the metaphors we associate with them. In the paintings, architecture represents what we value in culture (in my case, my Persian heritage); the people represent family and community; and the figure of the artist is both myself as an observer and any creator who offers us the possibility of bridging differences and understanding what we all have in common.
Pathways of Perception
150 x120 cm Acrylic on Canvas 2016
This The contrast between the serene, natural upper section and the darker, more abstract lower section creates a tension that may suggest uncertainty or conflict. The duality of the scene, with its peaceful pathway leading into an undefined distance while juxtaposed with bold, contrasting elements and the red circles, can invite viewers to ponder questions and interpretations. This tension between calmness and abstract intensity may lead one to feel doubt about the nature of the experience being presented-whether it is a journey of exploration, a moment of pause, or an indication of something more complex and possibly unsettling.
